Tax Time Made a Little Easier
SAFE is pleased to support free tax help at our local West Roseville and Rancho Cordova branches.
Roseville area seniors, 60 years of age and older, and low- to moderate-income filers, can take advantage of free tax help at SAFE’s West Roseville Branch, located at 9055 Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard in Suite 150. SAFE is working with AARP to offer the service through trained and certified AARP Tax-Aide volunteers. They will be available on Fridays, from February 10 through April 13, between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. To make an appointment or learn more about AARP Tax-Aide, call (916) 774-5960.
Low- to moderate-income filers can take advantage of free tax help at the Rancho Cordova Branch, located at 12519 Folsom Boulevard. SAFE is working with the Sacramento Coalition for Working Families to offer the service through trained and certified VITA volunteers. They will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the following Saturdays: March 10, March 24, and April 7. To make an appointment and obtain a list of documents needed in order to prepare your return, call 2-1-1 from anywhere in the greater Sacramento area.
Filers with relatively complex returns may be advised to seek a tax professional who specializes in their needs. Walk-in filers will be seen on an as-available basis. For a list of other free tax preparation sites, visit the State Franchise Tax Board website: www.ftb.ca.gov.
