SAFE Credit Union Makes $10,000 Donation to First Tee of Sacramento

SAFE Credit Union announced today that it donated $10,000 to First Tee of Sacramento to benefit the organization that provides life and health skills through the game of golf to kids 3-18 in the Greater Sacramento region.

The donation to First Tee will go toward the organization’s goals of offering life skills and healthy habit training to more than 51,000 young people. First Tee helps young people learn life-enhancing values, make healthy choices, and strengthen their character by teaching them First Tee’s Nine Core Values: Honesty, respect, courtesy, judgment, perseverance, confidence, sportsmanship, responsibility, and integrity.

“SAFE is committed to helping the next generation succeed,” said SAFE Credit Union CEO David Roughton. “We particularly like giving to organizations that give youths the tools they need to be healthier and happier. First Tee is unique in that it gives kids from all backgrounds and abilities the chance to learn life lessons while playing golf.”

SAFE Credit Union believes in banking on what matters – our community. It partners with the community through donations, volunteering, and financial literacy workshops. In 2017, SAFE provided more than $300,000 in donations to nonprofits that promote health, education, and support those who serve in the military. Its employees and directors volunteered more than 11,000 hours to local nonprofits.
