Promoting Credit Union Investment & Insurance Programs (PROCU), made up of credit union and independent managers and insurers from across the country, has honored SAFE Financial Services’ Larry Braley with its top innovator award.
“Larry is the one who is always ahead of the curve,” says SAFE Financial Services Assistant Vice President David Simula. “It is not surprising he was recognized by the organization that connects hundreds of investment managers from banks, credit unions, and independent advisors as a key innovator and strategic thinker.”
The professional organization awarded Braley its annual 2022 Pete Snyder Innovation Award. Snyder, an industry leader, was noted for breaking new ground in the credit union investment and insurance industry during the 1980s.
“This was a surprise and is a testament to what we as a team have achieved,” says Braley, who adds he has always been a bit of a dreamer. “It’s fulfilling to know my work to provide exceptional experience and comprehensive strategies to the credit union members is being recognized by my colleagues in the industry.”
Braley, manages SAFE Financial Services which serves SAFE Credit Union members through the credit union’s partnership with LPL Financial, specializing in retirement planning for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, as well as wealth management and preservation, long-term care insurance and life insurance. He joined SAFE Financial Services in 2016.
One example of his thinking ahead was in 2017 when Braley introduced Zoom to the organization during its annual conference. “I get bored with the way things are,” he says. “I’m always looking how we can better serve credit union members and making sure we have the tools to do so.”
Braley serves on the LPL Financial Services Ambassador Council. Members share ideas and advocate for advisors and their clients.
“Overall, this award is an endorsement that SAFE is committed to and delivering on the strategic priorities that they set out to accomplish in our mission, vision and brand promise,” Simula says. “We are expanding client involvement with SAFE making it easier and more convenient for them every day. And that is in large part because of Larry’s contributions to drive member engagement.”
