Exec Touts SAFE’s ‘Landmark’ Impact on Downtown Convention and Arts District

Folsom, Calif. – (Nov. 10, 2025) – SAFE Credit Union Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Allison Yee-Garcia called for businesses and not-for-profits to support communities on a large scale during an episode of the Nonprofit Podcast Network.

On the podcast episode, “An Artful Partnership: How SAFE Performing Arts Center is Reviving Community and Culture in Sacramento,” Yee-Garcia sums up the impact of the credit union’s naming rights to the SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District.

“We exist to serve the community,” Yee-Garcia told listeners about SAFE’s ongoing 25-year civic commitment. “Rising tides lift all boats, right? For us to continue to see our members thrive in the community, we like to invest in things that bring that kind of broad impact.”

2026 will mark the seventh year since SAFE entered the “landmark” community partnership with the city of Sacramento, as creator and host Jeff Holden acknowledges in the podcast. The district, that reopened with renovations four years ago, encompasses the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center and Memorial Auditorium in downtown Sacramento.

The podcast episode was one of several in a series featuring area community performing arts venues.

"We are also a not-for-profit and – at the heart of SAFE certainly is a mission and a purpose to be there for the people of the greater Sacramento community," says Yee-Garcia. "And what better way to do that than to ensure such a unique amenity and space is available for our members and for the greater community to enjoy."

In 2019, the not-for-profit SAFE Credit Union announced its 25-year, $23 million commitment and investment into Sacramento’s SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District.

In doing so, SAFE joined other corporate citizens and civic organizations in supporting the $340 million project to transform and modernize the Sacramento Convention Center, Community Center Theater, and Memorial Auditorium.

Along with the naming rights, SAFE Credit Union teams up with community nonprofits and local performing arts groups to create memorable experiences, support artists and SAFE’s members with special events and member benefit offers.

The credit union is currently collaborating with Broadway Sacramento, Sacramento Ballet and the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera during their 2025-26 seasons to provide its members special ticket offers and discounts available through SAFE’s Online Banking and the SAFE Mobile App.
