September 30, 2026

Folsom and Roseville, Calif. – (Sept. 30, 2026) – On the latest episode of the Perfect Cents Podcast – intended to educate and inspire audiences – host Alex Becerra traces the business success of Sacramento region boxing gym owner Jose Morales.

Morales, of Roseville’s Jose Morales Boxing Academy, relays to listeners and viewers how lessons in boxing can help overcome personal and professional battles.

In boxing, Morales says, “you act like you’re not hurt when you’re really in a lot of pain … so we learn to dig deep when all odds are against us.”

Jose Morales, owner of Jose Morales Boxing Academy in Roseville, discusses life and financial lessons with SAFE Perfect Cents Podcast Host Alex Becerra.

“When we shouldn’t be moving. We’re still moving. Where we shouldn’t be, we’re still fighting,” he continues. “And that is the philosophy that I push upon us: Is that no matter what obstacles are being tossed your way or what you have going on in your life, if your will is stronger than those excuses, you will make that happen.”

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Morales was brought to the United States as an infant and raised in the Sacramento area by his single mother.

Throughout the podcast host Becerra navigates Morales’ own unique journey to success. They discuss how a disappointing experience as a young athlete serendipitously led him to where he is today, how a meaningful mentor in his life taught him the value of credit and introduced him to secure credit cards, and how he uses the lessons he’s learned to give back to his community.
