SAFE to Match Donations Made on Big Day of Giving up to $50,000

April 16, 2026

Folsom, Calif. (April 16, 2026) – Affirming its commitment to helping the greater Sacramento region thrive, SAFE Credit Union is matching donations made for Big Day of Giving, up to $50,000.

Donations made through the SAFE-sponsored Big Day of Giving page at www.bigdayofgiving.org/group/Safecu will be matched by SAFE, up to a total of $50,000. SAFE will match donations made during the early giving period starting April 23 through the end of Big Day of Giving at 11:59 p.m. May 7.

“We know SAFE members are generous, and we’ve seen their tremendous support for their favorite nonprofits in past Big Days of Giving,” says SAFE Credit Union Community Impact Manager Lauren LeBov. “This year, we are boosting that generosity by dedicating $50,000 to support the organizations that matter most to our members.”

Big Day of Giving is 24-hour donation drive for Sacramento region nonprofits operated by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Since the event launched in 2013, hundreds of nonprofits have received $117 million through Big Day of Giving donations.

SAFE is hosting a profile page on the GivingEdge website, an online giving platform operated by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. The page will feature links to nonprofits that SAFE supports and that align with its pillars of philanthropy: financial education, workforce development, youth and young adult education, and affordable housing.

Visitors to the page may choose to give to those nonprofits or use the “Browse all causes” button to find other nonprofits to support. Donations made to the nonprofits on the page as well as those accessed through the “Browse all causes” button from the SAFE-sponsored page will be eligible for the match.

“We look forward to reaching our goal of enhancing the impact of our members’ donations,” LeBov says.

For more than 85 years, SAFE has been dedicated to serving its members and the community. SAFE is committed to supporting organizations that expand access to resources and opportunities, helping individuals and families build long-term financial stability and independence through philanthropy, grants, volunteerism, and direct giving. It also awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors and community college students to help them in the next stage of their education.
