Social Media Terms of Use / Moderation Policy

Purpose of the Page

While this is an open forum, SAFE Credit Union intends to maintain a family-friendly environment, so please use appropriate language when commenting and follow the posting guidelines listed below.

While our intention is not to ban or block individuals from our page, if content becomes abusive or inflammatory, we will take steps, in our sole and absolute discretion, to remove that content and block the offending user(s) from the page.

Posting Guidelines

Participation on SAFE’s social media accounts is done so at your own risk; therefore, you are taking personal responsibility for your posts/comments, your username, and any information you provide. You agree to release SAFE from any liability for your use of SAFE’s social media accounts. Further, you agree to indemnify and hold SAFE harmless from any claims made against SAFE due to your use of SAFE’s social media accounts. Social media platforms are owned by third parties not affiliated with SAFE and SAFE is not responsible for privacy or security policies at these sites or other sites that may be linked to and within them.

We cannot and will not discuss personal and private matters in a public forum including on our social media accounts. Specific complaints and comments regarding SAFE employees or members will not be tolerated. Further, we will not discuss or address issues, comments, or complaints involving your accounts with SAFE.

Please understand that comments posted to this social media account do not represent the opinions of SAFE.

SAFE reserves the right to remove posts that violate our house rules or other guidelines, or that contain the following types of content:

  • Graphic, obscene, explicit, or racial comments, or submissions, or comments that are abusive, hateful, or intended to defame anyone or any organization
  • Discriminatory or derogatory language
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading
  • In violation of any intellectual property right of another
  • In violation of any law or regulation
  • Advertisements, SPAM content, phishing content, or references to other products, offers, or websites
  • Content that is not relevant or off-topic
  • Email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, or other forms of contact information, including that of any SAFE member, SAFE employee, or any SAFE board members

By submitting any content, inclusive of any photographs, you grant SAFE the absolute right to use the content in any and all SAFE websites, including social media, publications, print, and other media, without payment or any other compensation whatsoever.

Your security

Remember that social media is a public space. Do not include personal or account information in posts or private messages. SAFE will never ask for your account information, Social Security number, member number, passwords, or PINs via social media outlets or email.

We discourage clicking on links posted by other users, as these links may pose risk to your computer or take you to inappropriate sites.

Moderation Policy

Moderation of SAFE’s social media accounts takes place 24/7. However, response to posts and comments by SAFE representatives will take place during normal business hours Monday through Friday, with the exception of the following holidays:

Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Columbus Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
