SAFE Recognized for Adult Financial Literacy Efforts
The California Credit Union League (CCUL) has recently awarded SAFE second place in the 2012 Desjardins Adult Financial Educational Awards.
For more than 70 years, SAFE has been committed to improving the well-being of the community we serve. Community Banking, SAFE's unique division designed to help local businesses thrive and their employees prosper, continues to grow. Community Banking provides valuable financial wellness resources to local industries and community organizations, including: business banking services, membership as a benefit of employment, community outreach, and financial literacy programs.
SAFE maintains extensive financial literacy programs for both youth and adults:
• SAFE representatives teach personal finance skills and related topics and assist adults in developing savings habits and responsible money management skills through special programs and events.
• We reach out to employers with a package of financial wellness resources called SAFE@Work, providing resources which make an impact on employees' financial well-being and improve their ability to enjoy life at work.
• We collaborate with local employers, service organizations, technical schools, and community organizations to provide personal finance instruction.
• And, we assist in the training of instructors and volunteers who teach personal finance.
SAFE impressed the CCUL judges for using unique and innovative programs and partnerships to provide quality financial education programs and accessible banking solutions. To learn more about improving your financial well-being, read SAFE's Top Ten Steps.
