SAFE Branch, Mortgage Team Win Best of Orangevale

Folsom, Calif. (Feb. 27, 2023) – For the second year, SAFE Credit Union’s Orangevale/Fair Oaks branch has been named the “Best Credit Union” and “Best Mortgage/Lender” in Orangevale.

California Assemblyman Josh Hoover (R-Folsom) presented the 2022 Orangevale View community choice awards to SAFE representatives during their seventh annual “Best of Orangevale” awards ceremony held this month.

It is the second consecutive year the Hazel Avenue branch and mortgage officers have received both “Best Of” accolades. This year, online voters chose the winners from among 542 contenders vying in 80 categories. The community newspaper conducted the survey through Voterfly.

SAFE Credit Union Branch Manager Ronila Prasad oversees the Hazel branch. “The team's engagement with their members and peers, under Ronila's leadership, is what stands out about the Orangevale branch,” says SAFE Credit Union Vice President Retail Branches Janine Southwick. “They build confidence with members by educating them on digital adoption and offering them solutions to build financial freedom.”

Southwick says the Orangevale team was especially focused on helping members navigate their banking needs during the pandemic. Branch employees regularly volunteer at the area’s local hospice and other nonprofits serving area seniors and veterans.

SAFE Credit Union Vice President Real Estate Sales Suzanne Wages says the branch’s lending team led by SAFE Senior Mortgage Officer Kurt Munch looks out for SAFE members’ “best interest.”

“Whether members are purchasing a home or refinancing a home, finding the right lender is extremely important,” says Wages. “It’s one of the biggest financial decisions many people make. I am proud to say this community is well taken care of with people like Kurt and the Hazel branch by their side.”

The Hazel branch, located on the border of Fair Oaks and Orangevale, also recently received the Best of Fair Oaks Best Bank/Credit Union in the community choice awards sponsored by the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce, Voterfly, and the American River Messenger.

Winners of the Orangevale awards are expected to appear in the Orangevale View’s upcoming free “go to” directory and reference guide.

The February Best of Orangevale awards banquet was sponsored by Sacramento County Supervisor Sue Frost and L&M Liquor and Deli.
