SAFE Credit Union Gears Up for SacTown Run

Folsom, Calif. – (April 2, 2025) – SAFE Credit Union is joining other credit unions in sponsoring and participating in the annual SacTown Run, a charity event benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network, this Sunday, April 6.

The SacTown Run begins at the Capitol Mall. There are 1-mile, 5k, and 10-mile options for all types of runners and walkers.

While SAFE has been a longtime sponsor of the event, the credit union also sends a team of runners. This year Western Health Advantage is underwriting SAFE’s entry fees for the event.

The person behind the scenes at SAFE organizing employees’ participation this year is AVP Regional Sales Ann Marie Murry. Murry co-leads the SAFE Wellness Committee, which promotes healthy habits throughout the year through various challenges and events.

“I have the privilege of working with so many employees across the organization, and I love using my platform to influence others to get healthy and feel good about themselves,” Murry says. “Adding healthy habits to your day sometimes just takes a friendly reminder, and when we all work together, great things can happen.”

For Murry, the credit union’s participation in the capital city’s annual SacTown Run has added meaning – it’s a family affair. She enjoys walking the route with her family, two of whom also work for local credit unions.

In the month leading up to the run, Murry rallied hundreds of credit union employees to join a hydration challenge that promoted drinking plenty of water each day. Next up will be a company-wide step challenge. Participants are eligible to receive wellness-themed items.
