SAFE has partnered with an independent third-party voting administrator, CU Ballot, to manage the voting process and securely collect and count ballots. This independent process helps protect the integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy of member voting.
If you're having trouble voting online, haven’t received your voting materials, or have questions about eligibility, we're here to help.
SAFE and BECU share a strong commitment to the community and supporting local non-profit organizations. This value is woven through both purpose-driven organizations and you have the chance to help demonstrate and direct this commitment as part of your vote.
When you cast your ballot, you will be given the option to help decide how a $250,000 community donation will be distributed among four SAFE non-profit partners supporting education, financial wellness, affordable housing, and workforce development. Regardless of how you vote on the proposed combination, you can still participate in the vote to help direct this donation.
It's another way your voice can help make a difference in the communities we call home.
The proposed combination between SAFE and BECU is designed to build on SAFE's strong foundation while creating more opportunities for members and the communities we serve.
Including the expected elimination of monthly account service fees (currently ranging from $5–$15 per month) and certain NSF fees that will result in nearly $7M in savings benefiting close to 74,000 SAFE members.
Including grants of up to $8,000 for eligible members, funded by an initial $500,000 commitment from BECU and SAFE upon completion of the combination.
Including automatic loan repricing for eligible members as credit profiles improve, with no application or refinance required.
Access to a free relationship-based program that rewards members with premium interest rates and higher yields on select accounts.
Helping members, small businesses, and local communities thrive.

No. Each eligible SAFE member is entitled to one vote.
SAFE has partnered with an independent third-party voting administrator, CUBallot, to manage the voting process and securely collect and count ballots. This independent process helps protect the integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy of member voting. To keep the vote independent, ballots need to be mailed back directly using the postage-paid envelope addressed to CUBallot.
If you've lost that envelope, you can mail your ballot to: CUBallot Election Processing, PO Box 3156, Dublin, OH 43016.
First, confirm that you are eligible to vote. If you are eligible to vote, you can easily vote online. If you believe you should have received a paper ballot, and would prefer to cast your vote via mail, you can visit any SAFE branch to obtain a replacement ballot.
If you are having trouble voting online, make sure you are entering your information exactly as requested. You have three attempts to enter the required verification information. If you are still unable to vote after three attempts, you can Live Chat with SAFE or call the Contact Center (800) 733-7233.
All eligible business and trust members may vote by mail, online, or in person at the Special Meeting of Members. Only one authorized signer or trustee may vote on behalf of the business or trust. Paper ballots will be mailed to all business and trust members. If a business and trust member chooses to vote online, be sure to enter the: 1) name of the business or trust exactly as it appears of your statement, 2) the last six numbers of the EIN of the business or trust, and the 5-digit ZIP code of the business or trust mailing address.
No. Once you submit your ballot, your vote is final and cannot be changed. Please review your selection carefully before submitting your ballot. This includes your selection for the proposed combination and, if you choose to participate, your selection of a nonprofit to receive a portion of SAFE's $250,000 community donation.
As part of the voting process, eligible voting members can help decide how a $250,000 community donation from SAFE is allocated among four local nonprofits. Your vote on the proposed combination does not affect your ability to participate in the nonprofit selection.
Once voting closes, the independent voting administrator will collect and process ballots and certify the results. SAFE will then communicate the outcome to members.
